Contact Marine Air Conditioning

Tell us the boat, where you sail and what you're trying to fix. We reply with a straight answer — and, if you want one, a supply-and-install quote from an installer near you.

Boat and Air Conditioning Details to Include

The more of this you can give us, the more useful the reply. None of it is compulsory.

  • The boat — make, model and length. A link to a listing photo of the same model helps more than you would think.
  • Where it lives — home port, and where you actually sail in summer. Cairns and Hobart are different problems.
  • What you want cooled — the whole boat, or the cabin you sleep in.
  • Where you'll be plugged in — marina berth, at anchor, or both. If you know your berth's supply, 10 A or 15 A, say so.
  • What's there now — nothing, a unit that has stopped working, or a unit that never really worked.

If something has stopped working, start with the overboard discharge. Look for the trickle of warm water from the hull fitting while the unit is running. No trickle means the seawater side, which is the cause of most warm cabins and usually a blocked strainer — check that before you write to anyone. The no-flow page walks the whole check, and twenty other faults are written up the same way.

Marine Air Conditioning Enquiry Responses

01

We read it and reply within two working days. A real answer, not a form.

02

If a system would suit you, we say which class and roughly what size, and why.

03

If you want a quote, we ask first, then introduce you to an installer near you. We may receive a referral fee, and we tell you before passing anything on. See the editorial policy.

04

If a wind scoop and a shade cloth would fix your boat, we say that instead.
