Marine Air Conditioning Advice Disclaimer
The site is a researched starting point, not professional advice about your vessel. Information may be inaccurate, incomplete, unsuitable for your boat or out of date.
Limits of General Boat Air Conditioning Advice
Marine Air Conditioning publishes general educational information for Australian boat owners. We cannot inspect your hull, wiring, shore-power arrangement, seacocks, ventilation, battery bank or existing equipment. A statement that is broadly correct for one installation may be unsafe or simply wrong for another.
Nothing on the site is engineering, electrical, refrigeration, legal, financial or safety advice. Do not rely on a calculator, comparison, fault guide, email reply or product summary as the sole basis for buying equipment, cutting a hull, altering wiring, handling refrigerant or operating a system.
Advice and calculations can be wrong. Confirm safety-critical facts against the current manufacturer instructions, applicable standards and an appropriately licensed professional who has inspected the vessel.
Refrigerant, Electrical and Below-Waterline Work
Fixed 240 V work must be assessed and completed by an appropriately licensed electrician. Isolate power and stop if there is heat, arcing, a burning smell, repeated tripping or any shock risk.
Charging, recovering or otherwise handling regulated refrigerant requires the relevant ARCtick licence. A fault code or low-pressure symptom is not permission to open the circuit.
Through-hulls, seacocks, strainers and hoses below the waterline are safety-critical. If a fitting, hose or closure is doubtful, stop and have it inspected before operating the system.
Equipment Figures, Prices and External Sources
Sizing outputs, running-time estimates, prices, noise figures and electrical loads are estimates unless the page says otherwise. Product ranges, refrigerants, manuals, prices, laws and standards change. Always check the exact model and revision you intend to use.
Links to outside websites are provided for convenience. We do not control their content, availability or accuracy, and a link is not an endorsement. Our resources page prioritises authorities and manufacturers so you can verify important details at the source.
