Everything here is general information about a class of equipment. It is not advice about your particular boat, and a licensed installer who has actually seen the vessel outranks anything written here.
General Marine Air Conditioning Information
The guides, calculators, price ranges and recommendations on this site are written for a general audience of Australian boat owners. They cannot account for your hull, your insulation, your existing wiring, your seacocks or the condition of your boat.
The calculators in particular are sizing tools, and we say so on every page that carries one. They produce a shortlist number to start a conversation, not a specification to buy from. The cost ranges are built from published inputs and are labelled with how confident we are in each one.
Two things always need a licensed person, whatever you read here. Refrigerant work needs an ARCtick licence, and fixed 240 V wiring on a vessel is an electrician's job under AS/NZS 3004.2. Nothing on this site is a substitute for either.
Accuracy of Technical and Price Information
We check what we publish and we correct what we get wrong, with a note saying what changed. But specifications change, prices drift, and product ranges are replaced without notice. Confirm any figure that matters against the current datasheet before you spend money on it.
We are not responsible for decisions made on the strength of what you read here. If a figure looks wrong to you, it may well be — tell us, and we will check it.

We are not a dealer, an installer or an agent for any manufacturer. We do not sell equipment, we do not install anything, and we hold no stock.

The writing, the calculators and the data compiled on this site are ours. Quote us, link to us, and use the figures in a conversation with your installer — all welcome. Republishing pages wholesale is not.
Where we name marinas, refit precincts or businesses, it is as factual description of a place or a trade. It does not imply any relationship between them and us, and it is not an endorsement of any particular business.
We link to external sites where they are useful, including a curated official resources page. We do not control those sites and we are not responsible for what they say.
