Marine Air Conditioning Installation Time
The short answer
Fifteen to twenty-five yard hours for a single self-contained unit on a 35–45 ft boat — typically two to four days in the yard. A two-zone split runs twenty-five to forty hours, and a chilled-water system with three or four zones is a week or more.
Boat AC Installation Time — Requirements and Limitations
Access is the variable, not the plumbing. A duct run through an already-open bulkhead is an hour; the same run behind fitted joinery can be a day. This is why the same boat can land at either end of a published price range.
Ask whether joinery has to come out, whether putting it back is in the price, and who is responsible if it does not go back the way it came out. That conversation is much cheaper before the work than after.
