Marine Air Conditioning on a 10A Marina Supply
The short answer
Record which protective device trips and whether it happens during compressor start or sustained operation. Reduce optional loads within the boat’s approved operating plan and arrange checks by the marina or a licensed electrician. Repeated trips can indicate a fault; they are not a reason to bypass protection or repeatedly reset it.
Boat AC on a 10A Marina Supply — Requirements and Limitations
A 10 A supply limits the combined demand of air conditioning, battery chargers and appliances. Starting demand differs from running current, but trip timing alone does not prove an inrush problem or identify the failed component.
Ask about an approved soft-start solution only after the equipment and supply are assessed. A soft start does not increase the circuit rating or fix an RCD fault. Do not use adapters to defeat the marina supply limit.
