Seacock: Marine Air Conditioning Definition
The valve on the through-hull. The one part of the system that can sink the boat.
Seacock in a Boat Air Conditioning System
Exercise it fully open to fully shut at least annually — a seacock that has not moved in a year is one you cannot rely on when a hose fails. Two stainless clamps on the hose tail below the waterline, and a soft wood plug tied nearby. Everyone aboard should know where it is and which way is shut.
Using Seacock Specifications in Quotes and Manuals
Use this definition to understand a quote, manual or fault report—not as an instruction to modify the boat. Before buying, compare the wording against the current manufacturer documentation. For refrigerant, fixed 240 V wiring or below-waterline work, use the official licensing and standards sources and an appropriately qualified tradesperson.
